The Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP)
The Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP) is a government-led initiative aimed at reducing the country’s reliance on traditional industries by fostering growth in non-mineral sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and the creative industries. Supported by the World Bank, this project focuses on enhancing private sector competitiveness, improving business environments, and creating job opportunities for youth and women. By investing in infrastructure, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and promoting innovation, SLEDP seeks to strengthen economic resilience and drive sustainable development. With a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and skills development, the initiative is positioning Sierra Leone as a dynamic and diversified economy with opportunities for local and international investment.
